Chef Inês Carvalho working at the pass in the Salgado kitchen

Our story

A small kitchen with a long memory.

Chef Inês Carvalho grew up on the Peniche docks, where her grandmother sold fish before sunrise. In 2019 she opened Salgado on Rua do Alecrim to cook the way that kitchen did: few ingredients, patient fire, nothing hidden.

Every plate starts with a phone call to the boats at dawn. If the fish is not right, it is not on the menu.

The best clams in Lisbon, and I do not say that lightly. Carvalho cooks like someone who has nothing to prove and everything to taste.
